i have taken the opportunity of reading "old books" that are mentioned in someone else's book. I did this with books mentioned Cheryl Strange's "Wild" and "The Storied life of AJ Filkry. it is not for me to review or evaluate old books written by masters who have stood the test of time. Poe is Poe. I am not a student or a biographer. We all need to read and study the masters for ourselves. One service that Amazon needs to put together is an online book club so we could read and reflect on books we should, or did, read in high school or college. I very often wished i was in English 101 so I could really understand and learn about these long time books and their authors..Product details

Fantastic. The book has wonderful wear on the cover. The kind of wear that tells the story of its life heretofore. It has a soul. I take ownership of it as a responsibility as much as a pleasure. It was listed as being in "Good" condition. I can only imagine this is due to its visage as the pages within might have been printed yesterday. And for $40. That's equivalent to 2 pizzas for a gorgeous 117 year old book with a life and history all its own and the words and wisdom and music it contains. I am far beyond pleased with the purchase. I highly recommend this seller. Terrific. The experience made me so happy and gives me hope.
The volume begins with a biography of Poe before getting to the poetry. I found the poetry difficult to read on the - with no punctuation and the lines and stanzas run together.
It's O K. A little bit of a tough read, but for the most part, rather enjoyable.. I hadn't read Poe since I was a kid.
